A field investigation on the routing of Interstate Spur 581 into Roanoke began this afternoon.
(TAKE FILM)
Federal, State and City officials assembled at the Salem Highway office and began the arduous task of considering proposed routings. They considered blueprints which show the spur running off Interstate 81 at Kingstown to Orange Avenue, Northeast.
When the weather cleared a little this afternoon, the inspectors toured the area where the Spur will begin. Tomorrow they will travel the right of way from Kingstown to Orange Avenue. Details on right of way acquisition will be worked out after a definite route is pinpointed.
